Yury Frolov | Creative Director
Yury has over 20 years of experience in traditional and interactive design. The majority of his career has been devoted to high-profile technology and Internet clients such as IBM, Oracle, Cisco, Fujitsu, Phone.com and Moody's Financial Services. He has worked with top design and entertainment companies including 1185 Design, MCA Universal Pictures and Red Square Design.
Yury studied design and architecture at the Institute of Art and Industrial Design (aka Strogonovka) in Moscow. He received his Master's degree in Design and Environmental Graphics in 1983.
Yury was a 1991 recipient of the prestigious Krasner-Pollock Foundation art grant and a winner of How Magazine's International Design Competition for 1997. Yury maintains his personal art blog at advertanda.wordpress.com
Steven Gilman | Communications Strategist
Steven has over 20 years of experience in senior positions in technology development, consulting and marketing. He has held management positions for Global 1000 corporations, as well as start-ups and privately held organizations including Metropolitan Life and Hughes. His expertise spans digital media, storage management, communications and technology and includes work with Sun Microsystems, Fujitsu, Triworks Intl, NTT, Hitachi, and Aaron Marcus & Associates. Steven focuses on market strategy, project management and visual communications.
In addition to Studio Asterisk*, Steven is an adjunct faculty member at SFSU, GGU and UOP, and teaches undergraduate and graduate management and marketing.
Andrew Lynch | Lead Information Architect
Years of experience with database design, multimedia production, and network
management led Andrew to California and the world of start-ups, where his
work in usability and interaction brought him to the attention of Studio
Archetype. Later, as a Lead Information Architect at Sapient, he served
clients like HP, Xerox, and Janus. His focus on the intersection of user
and business requirements has also served Network Associates, Schwab
Learning, Blue Shield of California, and Intuit.
Andrew, a long-time published writer of short fiction, completed his second
short film in 2004.
Nick Fogler | Lead Technologist
As Lead Technologist for Studio Asterisk*, Nick has close to 10 years of experience, including the position of Lead Web Developer at Adjacency/Sapient. His client work has included Patagonia, Caterpillar, Powerbar, Virgin Megastore, Esprit, and Land Rover.
Nick is an authority in front-end web tools and technologies (HTML, Javascript, DHTML, Perl, PHP, ASP, ColdFusion, Director, Flash, etc.) He leads Studio Asterisk*s development team and has built web-based applications and web sites for high-profile clients including Network Associates, Institute for OneWorld Health, Documentum and Martsoft.
 
Eugene Sheshenin | Senior Designer
Eugene has 10 years of experience as a lead designer working with companies like Warner Bros., Red Square Design, Young & Rubicam, and Keeno Films. He has also developed concepts for several national advertising campaigns including the Stoli Vodka campaign in 1994.
Eugene has received the official selection of the Annecy Animation Festival in France in 1992 for his animated short Hypnoerotomachia. He also won first prize in the Soviet Union Animation Festival in 1988 for December 32nd, an animated musical broadcast on the First Central Television Channel [U.S.S.R] in 1987.
Eugene received his Masters in Fine Art from the Polygraphic Institute in Moscow.
 
Ana Berezovskaya | Office Manager
Anastasia (Ana) Berezovskaya, our office manager, has a diverse background. Her vast experience covers multi-industry networking and international trade, archeological expeditions and improvisational singing.
Besides managing Studio Asterisk*s paperwork and providing customer service, Ana is working on her degree in Psychology. Multitasking and making our clients feel their best are her strong qualities: Ana ensures that our clients are comfortable and well-informed. |
